Cultures

All cards in the game, except The One Ring and the sites, are organized into Cultures. Each culture represents a group from with the world of The Lord of the Rings. For example, cards representing characters or icons from Gondor are grouped into the Gondor culture.

Cards from one Culture will often work well with other cards from that culture. Each Culture also has its own identifying symbol, such as the Orcish helm for Moria, or the Nazgul crown for Ringwraith.

The cultures are:

Dunland
Dwarf
Elf
Gandalf
Gollum
Gondor
Isengard
Moria
Raider
Ringwraith
Rohan
Shire
Sauron
Man
Orc
Uruk-hai

It's worth noting that there is a difference between culture and race, even if the two share a name. For example, a minion could have the race of Orc but have a symbol for the Sauron culture. The Cave Troll, Savage Menace minion has the race of Troll but is from the Orc culture so a card that said 'spot an Orc' could not spot the Cave Troll while a card that said 'spot an [Orc] minion' (where [Orc] is the symbol for the Orc culture) could spot the Cave Troll.
