Overwhelm

If the total strength of one side in a skirmish is at least double the total strength of the other side when the skirmish resolves, all the characters on the losing side are killed (regardless of how many wounds or how much vitality each has). This is called being overwhelmed. When a character is overwhelmed, that character does not take any more wounds - he simply dies. When the Ring-bearer is overwhelmed, he is killed, regardless of whether he wears the Ring. The One Ring's ability to convert wounds into burdens does not protect him from being overwhelmed, since no wounds are placed. A character with zero strength is overwhelmed by any positive strength number on their opponent's side. If both characters in the skirmish have strength zero, then the Shadow side wins the skirmish, but does not overwhelm its opponent.
