Spot

Some cards require that certain other cards or types of cards be spotted before they can be played. A card can be spotted if it is in play and active. For example, some Elf characters have the game text "To play, spot an Elf." You could not play a character with this text unless there is already an Elf in play. Cards in the dead pile cannot be spotted.
