Got a great idea for a card that might fit into the Hunters Block? If so, you could see your card idea in the "Rise of Saruman" or "Treachery and Deceit" expansion sets!
Starting today, you can post your ideas on The Lord Of The Rings Online TCG Forum for a companion or minion. Ideas can be submitted up until midnight (EST) Wednesday, November 16th and all card ideas should include a thumbs up, thumbs down poll (one card per post/poll, please). You can vote on player submitted ideas up until Friday, November 18th. 2 companions and 3 minions will make the final cut based on player feedback and strength of design (evaluated by Decipher and Worlds Apart).
On Tuesday, November 22nd, all The LOTR Online TCG player who are members of the Fellowship will receive 4 copies of each of these 5 cards for playtesting. These cards will be legal in open, expanded and Hunters block games. The cards will be tweaked in accordance to playtest feedback up until November 30th, at which point the cards will be finalized by game designers and art, lore and other finishing touches will be provided.
Players of the offline game will get to play these cards when they come out in "Rise of Saruman" and "Treachery and Deceit." Online players will not only get to oversee their creation but will also get to play with them next month, as the Online Hunters Draft Pack will include copies of these cards in its distribution!
The players who come up with the top five card designs and the top three playtesters (as determined by Decipher and Worlds Apart) during the testing phase will get a free admission to participate in the first-ever Hunters Draft tournament (with bonus prize support) on December 3rd!
So head on over to the Hunters Block Card Design Forum to post your ideas and check out the ideas others have to offer! You've got a week to give us your incredible idea! Remember, there will be 2 companions and 3 minions selected and they will be included in Hunters block drafts. Companions that help a wide variety of fellowships and minions that offer "crowd control" effects will be preferred designs. You can suggest a name for your cards but, due to future card designs, the name of your companion/minion might change in the process.
